Year 3
Welcome back to Autumn Term 1 Year 3!
Our new topic is called 'Time to Celebrate!'
We will begin by looking at various celebrations around the world and work towards answering our big question-What is a celebration?
Later on we will be learning to write in clear sentences, use phonics to support reading and writing and use our imaginations to engage the reader. In Maths, we will start by focusing on place value and the four operations.
Our PE session is on a Monday afternoon. Children can wear their PE kits to school. Children will be learning rugby skills from a rugby coach.
Your child has a set reading day (written inside the reading log) Please can you read with your child frequently and bring the book back to school on their day.
Welcome back to the Spring Term Year 3!
This term our topic looks at the phrase 'With great power comes great responsibility!'
We will start by looking at the Celts - we will look at Celtic Warriors and have been lucky enough to have has a visit from Jem, a Female Celtic Warrior to the class. We will learn more about the Celtic tribes, how they lived and how they defended their land. We will look at Celtic patterns and use them to design and make our own sheilds.

Welcome to Year 3!
We have Mrs Thomas as our class teacher and Mrs Bangsund is our Teaching Assistant. We have 28 children in our class.
We are a happy, caring and friendly class. We love to learn new things. Success is doing our Best!

Things to remember:
We have Ukulele lessons in class every Tuesday morning
PE - Every Tuesday afternoon. Please ensure your child brings a PE kit suitable for indoor or outdoor PE sessions.
Forest school activities will take place every Wednesday morning. Please bring in old shoes/trainers or wellies and a coat as the weather is getting colder 🥶
Big Maths and Turbo Tables tests take place every Friday .Please can you regularly practice your child's times tables at home (x2, x3, x5 & x10)
Your child has a set reading day (written inside the reading log) please read with your child frequently and bring the book to school on their day.
Homework goes out every Friday and should be completed over the course of a week.
