In the Year 2 class, there are 31 children and 2 members of staff - Mrs Connor and Mrs Jones.

We have Forest schools sessions on a Monday afternoon - Please bring Wellies or old shoes to school.

On Tuesday, we have PE. PE will be in the hall for the Autumn term. Please could PE kits be brought into school at the beginning of every half term. They will be returned at the end of each half term to be washed.

We ask that reading books be returned daily. We will read with your child on a daily basis. It is important that your child has the chance to read on a daily basis.

Fruit can be brought into school for 'tuck'. Children in the Foundation Phase have milk at break-time, they will be able to eat their fruit during this time.

Children are welcome to bring water to school in a refillable bottle. They will be able to access this throughout the day.

Welcome to Year 2!

Autumn 2020

This term the children have become architects and have been designing different buildings using various construction resources.  They have investigated different foundation materials using a lego house and have helped the Three Little Pigs by sorting different materials that could be useful to build a new house.

In Maths, we have been learning how to partition hundreds, tens and units, investigating 2d shapes and using them to make 3d shapes and using simple number facts to help us work out bigger numbers.

In Literacy, we have been writing retells of The Three Little Pigs and Town Mouse and Country Mouse. We have been using Seesaw to record us retelling different stories. We have written instructions how to build a house and writing letters.

We are following Joe Wicks P.E.sessions to help us to keep fit and having been learning how to throw, run and jump in different ways. The children also enjoy learning and playing outside.
